The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

Quick Info
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, set in the late 1950s and early 1960s New York City, is about an affluent Jewish-American homemaker, Midge Maisel, whose perfectly-planned out life goes haywire after a shocking split from her husband. Midge, on discovering her talent for stand-up comedy, turns to the same to handle her topsy-turvy life.
What stands out in this series is the witty, fast-talking dialogue and the oh-so-incredible performances! You get to see the stunning transformation of Midge, played brilliantly by Rachel Brosnahan, from a delightful socialite to an ambitious, self-reliant woman trying to make it big in the male-dominated world of stand-up comedy. The humor is razor-sharp and the setting perfectly brings out the charm of the 1960s. The costumes, the music, all add to the delightful viewing experience.
As for disappointments, well, there aren't many. But, if I had to pick, I would say some of the storylines could be reeled in a bit. Sometimes there's just too much happening all at once. Fans of witty dialogues and those interested in stand-up comedy or the 1960s era would definitely enjoy it.
